Robert Guerra wird über die Arbeit der kanadischen Nichtregierungsorganisation Privaterra berichten. Diese unterstützt weltweit Menschenrechtsaktivisten beim Aufbau sicherer Kommunikationsinfrastrukturen.
Diese Arbeit hilft Aktivisten, mit Hilfe von sicheren Kommunikations - Infrastrukturen über ihre Arbeit zu berichten und in grösserer Sicherheit ihre Arbeit durchführen zu können. Und vor Überwachung durch diejenigen geschützt sind, die ihre Arbeit behindern, ihre Rechte verletzen und ihre Leben gefährden.

Vorführung Hacktivista-Dokumentation
Hacktivista ist die Geschichte von drei Studenten der Universität von Toronto, die mit ihrem Professor nach Guatemala und Chiapas gereist sind, um für Menschenrechtsorganisationen und -aktivisten sichere IT-Infrastrukturen aufzubauen und sie im Umgang damit zu schulen. Die Studenten nennen sich selbst "hacktivists", eine neue Art sozialem Engagements, die Informationstechnologie nutzen, um für Meinungsfreiheit und Datenschutz zu kämpfen.

Robert Guerra will talk about Privaterra's work protecting human rights workers throughout the world by offering and implementing privacy and
security technology, technological education and support. This work
helps ensure human rights workers have the ability to communicate and
conduct their activities in greater safety against the dangers of spying
eyes and ears that may limit their effectiveness, infringe their rights,
and endanger their lives.

Screening documentary - Hacktivista
Hacktivista is the story of three University of Toronto students (Nart,
Michelle, and Graeme) who travel with their professor to Guatemala and
Chiapas to work with human rights organizations and activists on
Internet security and connectivity. The students call themselves
"hacktivists" -- a new breed of social activists who use technology to
fight for privacy and freedom of speech.
The screening on the 4th of March will show - episode two, the students
are immersed in the often tense environment of Guatemala, where they
work with frontline human rights activists whose networks are
increasingly subject to electronic attack.
